Who We Are

Marice Stith Recording Services is a family-owned and operated business that has provided professional quality recording equipment for over 40 years. Marice Stith, professor emeritus at Cornell University, was the Director of Bands for 23 years. In his desire to capture his own band's music on tape, he discovered the art of obtaining professional recordings. Through Marice's affiliation with Cornell University, he began to sell equipment and tape to the Lab of Ornithology. A wonderful friendship developed over the years between us, and the Lab pointed out the need for professional recording equipment in the field of ornithology. It is through our association with them that we sell top quality recording equipment suited for bird recording.

Although Marice, now in his 80's, can usually be found playing trumpet in numerous different community bands or relaxing at home with his wife of 60 years, the business has continued on through his daughter, Kathie Bennett, for the last 20 years. The same hard work, honesty, integrity and pursuit of excellence that Marice lives by is still being lived out in the business today.
